Policies & Ethics
Below you will find basic information about policies and professional ethics for counseling sessions with me. Please note that the content provided here is a general overview only. More specific details will be provided prior to and/or during the first session.
Cost of Services
For individuals, my standard fee is $150 per 50-minute session. Sliding scale options may be available if needed. Payments are be made by card before each session on the thera-LINK client portal. I currently do not accept health insurance but can provide super bills.
Appointment Cancellations
Though I strive to keep scheduling flexible, clients must give at least 24 hours' notice if canceling a session for the week. Clients should expect to be charged for sessions that are missed or canceled without proper notice.
Late Payments
If for any reason payment cannot be made for the day's session, clients may be allowed to carry the balance to the next scheduled session. Clients who are repeatedly late on payments risk termination of services.
Session Format
I offer telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant video sharing platform called thera-LINK. Voice sessions by phone are also an option. Though I do not have a therapy office, in-person sessions may be possible on a limited basis.
Client Confidentiality
The law and professional ethics require therapists and their supervisors to keep all client information strictly confidential (with exceptions where mandated by state law or court-issued subpoena). Your privacy and security is a top priority.
Professional Boundaries
In the best interests of clients, ethical guidelines require therapists to keep therapeutic relationships professional. Relationships or associations with clients outside of our therapeutic relationship is usually discouraged.
