Policies & Ethics
Below you will find basic information about policies and professional ethics for counseling sessions with me. Please note that the content provided here is a general overview only. More specific details will be provided prior to and/or during the first session.
Cost of Services
For individuals, the standard fee is $150 per 50-minute session. Sliding scale options may be available. Payment can be rendered by card before each session through the thera-LINK client portal. Insurance is not accepted.
Appointment Cancellations
Though scheduling is flexible, clients must give at least 24 hours' notice if canceling a session. Unless due to an emergency, clients will be charged for sessions missed or canceled without proper notice.
Late Payments
If for any reason payment cannot be made for the day's session, clients may be allowed to carry the balance to the next scheduled session at the therapist's discretion. Clients who are repeatedly late on payments risk termination of services.
Session Format
In compliance with Covid-19 social distancing guidelines, I am offering telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant video sharing platform called thera-LINK. Voice sessions by phone are also available.
Client Confidentiality
The law and professional ethics require therapists and their supervisors to keep all client information strictly confidential (with exceptions where mandated by state law or court-issued subpoena).
Professional Boundaries
In the best interests of clients, ethical guidelines require therapists to keep therapeutic relationships professional at all times. Any relationship or association with clients outside of sessions, even after termination of services, is strictly off-limits.
